WOW...What a difference a few bodys make.....Big time had by everybody...
sakura,rocco,cat,kusoku,tammy,spencer & his newbie friend,triplefry,daniel,ty,cowboy and sharon..Hamarr Heim.....Siguler..fielded 5 of his guys 2 were newbies...
OKAY HERE WE GO...WE WORKED ON BOARD AND SWORD,SPEAR,GLAVE,2 SWORD,SINGLE COMBAT,
SHIELD WALL TACTICS,4 ON 4,FLANKING, 2 ON 1,4 ON 3,5 ON 4,AND ANY COMBINATION WE COULD THINK OF ....FOR WAR.
Spence,tammy on shield wall,daniel on glave and spear,triplefry on 2sword, fighting
for BLACK TALON against 4 or 5 Hamerr heim fighters 2 of them newbies...WAR..WAR..WAR
WAS THE BLACK TALON CHANT.I Think SPENCE,HIS FRIEND,TAMMY,KUSOKU,SAKURA,CAT ARE GOING TO PENNSIC SO WE WORKED THEM HARDER...WE FOUGHT EVERYBODY AND MOST OF THE TIME THE OTHER GUYS FOUGHT BACK...SPENCE IS LIKING HIS NEW ROUND SHIELD SO MUCH HE MADE TF ONE.. HIS FRIEND MADE SOME ARMOR LIKE NECKS BUT WITH ABS PLATES ON LEATHER I SOLD HIM MY ARMS,COWBOY PUT A NEW GRILL ON SPENCES OLD HELM..HES GOOD TO GO.I HAD CAT BRING
HER EXBOYFRIENDS 2 SETS OF ARMOR SO WE COULD BUY IT.THE GUY SHOWED AT ESTRALLA 1 DAY
AND QUIT FIGHTING...WE FOUGHT HARD..GOOD TIMES..PEACE,LOVE,WAR.. THATS THE WAY IT IS...TF

THIS WEEEK WAS A WIZ BANG OF A TIME..LOTS OF PEOPLE SHOWED SO PRACTICE WAS HEATED...
ON CALL...AKEEMM,ROCCO,KELLY,CAT,TRIPLEFRY,SHARON AND COWBOY.
NOT TO BE LEFT OUT DANIEL AND TY WITH A NEWBIE IN ARMOR ..LANCE ...FILLING OUT THE FIGHT CARD WAS THE BROTHERHOOD BUT THEY ARE NOT THE BROTHERHOOD ANY MORE..THE GROUP
GATHERING WITH US IS NOW CALLED HAMARR HEIM...SIGULFR IS THIER MAN IN CHARGE.....
ALLRIGHTY THEN...CAT AND KELLY ON SPEAR WITH DAN AND LANCE...HIS FIRST TIME IN ARMOR HE DID NOT LAST LONG . THEY WENT OVER AND OVER AND OVER BASICS UNTIL HE GOT THE IDEA.AKEEM AND ROCCO DID A SHINAI SPEAR DEMO AND CLASS...WHILE I 2 SWORDED SIGULFAR AND TY AND ANYBODY ELSE WHO WANTED SOME...DONT WORRY ..KELLY NOT ONLY GOT ME SHALL WE SAY HEATED BUT KEPT ME IN CHECK SO AS NOT TO DRIVE OFF THE NEWLY ACQUIRED FRIENDS OF BLACK TALON...WE DID GLAVE,2 SWORD,SPEAR UNTIL WE RAN OUT OF TIME.I STAYED IN ARMOR AND ON THE FIELD AT ALL TIMES FIGHTING AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE TO SEE HOW
LONG I COULD LAST ...THEN THE PRACTISE WAS OVER....I TOOK VIDEO BUT THE CAMERA ATE THE TAPE...MAY NEXT TIME.....PEACE,LOVE AND WAR MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS...TF

TRAINING THIS WEEK
consisted of some spear traning for cat,daniel and triplefry...instruction was by
akeem...The brotherhood did not show due to work related events.
BEER BOOTH AND BLACK TALON DEMO THIS WEEK ALSO AND ON THE SAME DAY....
We started at @12noon setting up the beer booths..roll call musashi,kelly,sharon,rocco
akeem and triplefry.AT AROUND 5PM WE ROLLED TO THE BOY SCOUT CROSSOVER HAD A DEMO
HELPED THE KIDS CROSSOVER GOT A BIG THANK YOU LETTER AND PATCH DID BOFFER AND RUSHED
BACK TO BEER BOOTH UNTIL @MIDNITE..LONG DAY FOR WEST COAST..AND THATS THE WAY IT IS

IT went well this week..NECK,CAT,KUZUKI AND CAT WORKING ON SPEAR,BOARD AND SWORD,NECK
EVEN WORKED ON 2 SWORD BUT NOT WELL....HE CAME BACK STRONG WITH BOARD AND SWORD..WE
FOUGHT THE BROTHERHOOD OF THE GAUNTLET...SINGLES AND THEN MELEE,,,GENE WAS ON BOARD
AND GOT A LITTLE CUT ON HIS BROW FROM NO PADDING IN HIS HELM...PEOPLE NOW IS THE TIME
TO WORK ON ARMOR MAKING SURE EVERYTHING IS RIGHT...NECK WILL BE GIVING A CLASS ON
SPEAR NEXT WEEK.....PEACE,LOVE,WAR...TF

WELL TRAINING DAY IS SADLY OVER!WE had some new people come back....thank goodness because i did not want to be responsible for scaring them off...honest i went light but we didnt see
them for a couple of practise days...PEOPLE GOT WORRIED
so i didnt want to get all happy and say something until they returned...
KELLY,GENE,ROCCO,SPENCER AND TRIPLEFRY ON THE SCA ERIC...COWBOY AND SHARON TOOK CARE OF OUR ECS COMITMENTS...
JOINING US on the field was the Brotherhood of the gaunlet, they brought some new
people to try and hook them into playing...WE PRACTISED
SWORD AND BOARD.... SPENCE MADE A NEW ROUND SHIELD TO TRY OUT..NOT BAD BUT ONLY HAD A SMALL TALON ON IT.....AND SOME BOWLING PINS..WE PRACTISED SPEAR, GLAVE,FLORINTINE
3 ON 3 MELEE...WE BROKE IN THE NEW GUYS REAL FAST...AS SOON AS WE HAVE ENOUGH PEOPLE
ITS BLOOD OF HEROS....NEXT WEEK WE HOPE TO DO IT AGAIN,,,TF..LOL

PRACTISE

Well.. out west we are lucky enough to have at least 1 day aweek where we can meet and
fight or just go over things that need attention..what we lack is new people to fight ...we all
know each other pretty well so fighting isnt as hard or radom as war...hitting the pell is great
for tech but without someone hitting back you dont know how bad you really are...still
i enjoy and look forward to that one day i have with my black talon brothers and sisters and
i try to do them justice by fighting or training as hard as i can.....with what i have

Training

So, I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on how to improve our general training level.

I don't think we should make practice mandatory because we are too widespread and ppl have job/family conflicts. Although, I think everyone should practice, even if it is with your local SCA groups (I have no one else to train with).

Let me know if anyone has any ideas/opinions.
